Cybersecurity career roadmap

A cybersecurity analyst watches for attacks, checks systems for weaknesses and helps when something goes wrong. The work stands on networking, so this roadmap starts there, as almost every entry route in Pakistan does.

It follows the order we teach: networks, systems, defence, then finding and answering threats. At the end it shows the network engineering route, which many analysts take first.

What the work pays: the entry figure we sourced is Rs 31,834 to Rs 112,351 a month across Pakistan (only 3 salaries), read on 5 May 2026. Source More on Cybersecurity careers in Pakistan.

Questions

Can I learn cybersecurity on a home computer?

Yes. You can practise in free virtual labs on an ordinary laptop. Only test systems you own or have written permission to test.

What is a SOC analyst?

A security operations centre analyst monitors alerts, decides which are real and escalates them. It is one of the most common first jobs in the field.

How this route was put together: Assembled from the published BvLogic curricula and, where a course is mapped to a NAVTTC national standard, from that standard's own competency list. It is not employer research: no employer in the pipeline has been researched for skill demand yet, and until that happens this list says what we teach a junior to do, not what a named company has told us it wants.
