Read what each lesson covers
- What attackers actually want. Real attacks are commercial and automated: money, accounts to resell and your contacts, which is why ordinary people are targets.
- Passwords, and why two-factor matters more. Reuse is the real danger: never use one password twice, prefer long passphrases, use a password manager and turn on two-factor authentication.
- Phishing and social engineering. Learn the pattern of urgency, authority, fear or greed and a convenient link, and check unexpected messages through another channel.
- Malware and ransomware in plain terms. Most malware is installed by the user, through cracked software or unofficial APKs. Updates and backups stop most of the rest.
- Securing your phone and your money. A six-digit screen lock, automatic updates, apps only from the official store, a SIM PIN and never sharing an OTP.
- Networks: the parts a beginner needs. IP addresses, ports, deny-by-default firewalls, what the HTTPS padlock does and does not prove, what a VPN can and cannot do, and DNS.
- Careers in security, honestly assessed. Most security work is defensive and repetitive, entry usually comes through IT or development, and testing without permission is a crime.
