Why Azure, in this market

AWS is larger globally. Azure is what a great many enterprises in Pakistan already pay for, and that is a practical reason to know it.

The reason is Microsoft 365. An organisation already buying Office, Exchange and Teams already has an Azure tenant, already has its staff identities in Entra ID, and already has a commercial relationship with Microsoft. Adding cloud infrastructure there is an easier conversation internally than opening an account with a new supplier. Banks, telecoms, large distributors and government adjacent organisations here tilt Microsoft for exactly this reason, and so do the jobs.

The structure. A tenant is your organisation's identity boundary. A subscription is a billing container. A resource group holds related resources and, importantly, lets you delete an entire environment in one action, which makes experimenting safe.

Regions. UAE North and India are nearest for Pakistani users. Choose deliberately, because latency and data residency both follow from it, and some clients will have contractual requirements about where data sits.

Entra ID, formerly Azure Active Directory, is the part that matters most. It is identity for both the cloud and Microsoft 365, which is why single sign on across an organisation is straightforward here in a way it is not elsewhere.

Costs work the same way as any cloud: compute by the hour, storage by the gigabyte, egress charged. Set a budget alert before creating anything, and know that an Azure free account gives credit for the first month plus some services free for twelve.
