The third one, and where it wins

Google Cloud is the third of the major providers by market share and it is chosen for specific reasons rather than as a default.

Where it genuinely wins. Data and analytics, where BigQuery is widely considered the best managed data warehouse available and is frequently the reason an organisation adopts the platform at all. Machine learning, with mature tooling. Kubernetes, which originated at Google and where the managed service is regarded as the most polished. And containers generally.

Cloud Run is the service worth knowing about, which runs a container without you managing any infrastructure, scales to zero when nothing is happening, and is billed per request. For a small application with irregular traffic, which describes a great many projects here, it is frequently the cheapest and simplest option available on any provider.

Where it is weaker. A smaller catalogue of services than AWS, a smaller job market, and fewer people who know it, which cuts both ways: fewer jobs and less competition for them.
