Produce social video without a computer.

CapCut is a free video editor that runs on a phone and on a desktop, and for social video it does nearly everything most people need.

Why it matters here. A great many people in Pakistan have a capable phone and no editing computer. CapCut removes that barrier entirely, and the output is indistinguishable from work done in expensive software for the formats it is used for.

What it is genuinely good at. Vertical video. Automatic subtitles. Text and titles. Trimming and pacing. Speed changes. Templates that match current trends. Removing a background without a green screen.

What it is not for. Long form work, colour critical projects, multi camera edits and anything requiring precise control. That is Premiere or DaVinci Resolve.

Set up correctly. Start a new project at 9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts. Decide the platform before you edit, because recomposing afterwards means redoing every text placement.

Import at full quality and do not let the app downscale on import if it offers to.

Learn the timeline first: split, delete, move, adjust the duration of a clip. Those four are most of an edit.

Be aware of the watermark on some exports and templates, and remove it before publishing, because a watermark on a business video looks unfinished.
