Prepare a week of teaching with AI and keep the teaching yours

The situation

Ms Farah teaches Class 8 science at a government school in Bahawalpur. Her class has 48 students, one projector that works some days, and no lab. She spends three evenings a week making worksheets and marking. She wants AI to give her time back without letting students hand in work they did not do.

Plan, make and mark one week of lessons with AI, check everything it produces, and set a classroom rule you can actually enforce.

What you'll be able to show

  • Write a lesson-planning prompt that includes what the classroom lacks
  • Produce differentiated material and check every answer before printing
  • Use AI to expand short marking notes into useful feedback, honestly
  • Set an enforceable position on student AI use and redesign one task

What you need

  • Any general AI assistant
  • A word processor and a printer or PDF
  • Never real student names or records in the AI tool; use first initials or numbers

Tasks

  1. 1Plan with the real classroom in it

Write a six-part prompt for one lesson: topic, class, length, what students already know, what the room lacks (no lab, 48 students, unreliable projector) and the format you want. Compare its plan with what a one-line request gives.
A correct result: Both plans, and three sentences on what the constraints changed.
  2. 2Three levels, one topic

Generate one worksheet at three levels for the same topic: support, core and stretch. Work every answer yourself before printing.
A correct result: Three worksheets with your worked answers and a count of the AI's wrong or unclear items.
  3. 3A quiz you trust

Generate ten multiple-choice questions on the week's topic. Check each answer and each wrong option, and rewrite any question with two defensible answers.
A correct result: Ten checked questions with the ones you rewrote marked.
  4. 4Feedback that saves time

Take five pieces of student work (anonymised, or your own invented examples). Write a one-line note for each, then ask the AI to expand each into three sentences of feedback in simple language. Edit until each sounds like you.
A correct result: Five one-line notes, the expanded feedback, and your edits.
  5. 5Redesign for honesty

Take one homework task that AI could answer in seconds. Redesign it so it needs the student's own observation, local context or work done in class. Write the one-line rule you will say aloud when setting it.
A correct result: The old and new task side by side, and the rule.
  6. 6Spend the time on people

Add up the hours this week's work saved compared with your usual week. Write which students, by first initial, you will spend that time with and what you will do.
A correct result: The hours saved and a short plan naming students by initial.

What to hand in

The two plans, the three worksheets with your answers, the checked quiz, the feedback set, the redesigned task with its rule, and the time plan.
