Read what each lesson covers
- Layers, and why everything depends on them. Work non-destructively: adjustment layers, smart objects and layer masks instead of the eraser. Name and group layers, and keep the layered PSD separate from exports.
- Selection and retouching. Start with subject or object selection and refine edges in Select and Mask; use the pen tool for products. Retouch on a separate layer, with restraint.
- Colour, light and getting output right. RGB for screen and CMYK for print, 300 ppi at final print size, Levels and Curves on adjustment layers, checks on more than one screen, and exports at a quality you have looked at.
- Design work, not just photo editing. Most paid work in Pakistan is design and production: social templates built with smart objects, product images, banners, mockups and composites, with alignment, contrast, hierarchy and space.
- Working efficiently and getting hired. Actions, templates and shortcuts, organised and backed-up files, a portfolio of the work you want with before and after, one adjacent tool, and quotes per job with revisions defined.
