Plan and publish the first video of a channel that can last

The situation

Usman repairs mobile phones in Peshawar and his customers keep asking the same questions: why the battery drains, whether a cheap charger is safe, how to back up photos before a repair. He wants a YouTube channel in Urdu that answers them, brings customers to the shop, and does not die after four videos like his last attempt.

Plan the first ten videos on evidence, then make and publish the first one properly.

What you'll be able to show

  • Find questions people search for in Urdu where existing answers are weak
  • Plan ten videos before publishing one
  • Make a title and thumbnail that work at stamp size, and an opening that keeps viewers
  • Produce with sound first, and read the first week's analytics

What you need

  • A phone camera and a modest wired or lapel microphone
  • A free editor (CapCut or similar) and a free thumbnail tool (Canva)
  • A YouTube channel; YouTube search and its autocomplete

Tasks

  1. 1Find the gaps

Search YouTube for twenty questions customers ask, in Urdu and in English. For each, note the top result's age, language and quality.
A correct result: A table of twenty questions with the best existing answer judged, and at least eight marked as poorly answered in Urdu.
  2. 2Plan ten, not one

Pick ten of the gaps and write a title and a one-line promise for each. Order them so the first three are the most searched.
A correct result: Ten planned videos with titles; the first one chosen.
  3. 3Write the first thirty seconds

Script the opening: say the answer is coming, show the problem on screen in the first five seconds, and cut every greeting and introduction. Write the rest as bullet points, not a word-for-word script.
A correct result: An opening under thirty seconds with no greeting, and a bullet outline for the rest.
  4. 4Record for sound

Record in a room with soft furnishings, the microphone close, light from a window in front of you. Record ten seconds of silence first and listen back on earphones before you record the rest.
A correct result: A clean recording with no echo or hum; a note on what you changed after the ten-second test.
  5. 5Title and thumbnail

Make a thumbnail with a clear face or the object, high contrast and three or four words. Shrink it to stamp size and check it still reads. Write a title under 60 characters that matches the search.
A correct result: The thumbnail at full and stamp size side by side, and the final title.
  6. 6Publish and read the first week

Publish with a description that answers the question in two lines and says where the shop is. After seven days, record impressions, click-through rate, average view duration and the point where most viewers left.
A correct result: The published link and the four numbers, with one change you will make in video two because of them.

What to hand in

The gap table, the ten-video plan, the opening script, the published video link, the thumbnail at both sizes, and the first-week numbers with your one change.
