What freelancing really involves

Freelancing is sold in Pakistan more dishonestly than almost anything else. Before the practical lessons, here is the version nobody advertises.

You are running a business, not doing a job. Doing the work — the design, the writing, the code — is perhaps half of it. The other half is finding clients, writing proposals, negotiating, chasing payments, handling complaints and doing your own admin. People who love the craft and hate the rest often struggle, and that is worth knowing before you pay for a course.

Income is irregular, especially at the start. Some months are busy, some are empty. Many people earn nothing at all for the first few months while building a profile. Anyone showing you a screenshot of a large first month is showing you the exception, or a fabrication.

Rejection is the normal state. You will send many proposals for each reply. That is not failure; it is the arithmetic of the work. People who take each silence personally give up in week three.

Nobody pays you to learn. Clients pay for a result. The learning happens on your own time, before and between jobs.

And it genuinely works for many people. It is real income, in dollars, from Pakistan, without leaving home — that is why so many pursue it. But it works for the people who treat it as a business and keep going through a quiet stretch.

So the honest test: are you prepared to do unglamorous business tasks, be told no repeatedly, and continue for several months without a guarantee? If yes, the rest of this course is practical. If not, a job using the same skill may genuinely suit you better, and there is no shame in that being the right answer.
