Review a real contract and report with Claude, checking every claim

The situation

Sana is an operations manager at a logistics company in Karachi. Every week she reviews long supplier contracts and consultants' reports, and she has to tell her director what matters in each. She wants to use Claude to read faster, but she cannot afford to repeat something in a meeting that the document does not actually say.

Use Claude on long documents the way a careful professional does: ask across the whole document, look for what is missing, challenge your own writing, and verify everything against the source.

What you'll be able to show

  • Ask questions across a whole long document and verify every answer
  • Find what a document leaves out, not only what it says
  • Use Claude as a sceptical reader of your own writing
  • Count how many unverified specifics would have reached the director

What you need

  • Claude (free or paid)
  • A long public document you can read in full: a standard contract template, a public company annual report, or a government policy document
  • Never a confidential company document

Tasks

  1. 1Choose and read the source

Pick a public document of at least fifteen pages. Read the summary and contents yourself first and write down three things you expect it to cover.
A correct result: The document title and link, and your three expectations.
  2. 2Ask across the whole

Ask Claude three questions that need the whole document (for example what happens if a delivery is late, every payment deadline, how termination works). For each answer, find the exact clause or page it relies on.
A correct result: Three answers each with the page or clause reference, and a mark for whether the source supports it.
  3. 3Find the gaps

Ask Claude what a careful reader would expect this document to contain that it does not. Check each claimed gap against the document.
A correct result: A list of claimed gaps, each marked confirmed or wrong after your check.
  4. 4Your own writing, challenged

Write a one-page summary for your director. Paste it in and ask what a sceptical director would object to. Act on the objections you find fair and note the ones you reject and why.
A correct result: Your first draft, the objections, and your revised summary.
  5. 5Prompt for care

Rewrite your best question as a careful prompt: role, the document, what to cite, and an instruction to say when the document does not answer. Compare the answer with your earlier one.
A correct result: Both prompts and both answers, with what improved.
  6. 6Count the risk

Underline every specific in your final summary: number, date, party, obligation. Verify each against the document and count how many Claude had stated that you could not confirm.
A correct result: The final summary with specifics checked and the count of unconfirmable ones.

What to hand in

The source link, the three cross-document answers with references, the gap check, the before-and-after summary, the two prompts, and the verification count.
