Building Chatbots Without Code · Course lab · about 150 minutes · 6 tasks · marked out of 100, pass at 60

Build a WhatsApp-style FAQ bot for a real small business and prove it works

The situation

Bilal runs a mobile accessories shop in Rawalpindi that takes orders on WhatsApp and Instagram. He answers the same questions all day: price, delivery charges, cash on delivery, warranty, shop timings. Customers who message at night get no reply and buy elsewhere.

Build a no-code bot that answers his repeat questions from a source he controls, hands anyone upset or unusual to a person quickly, and prove with numbers that it works before it goes live.

What you'll be able to show

  • Choose the bot's job from real message data, not guesses
  • Put the bot on the channel customers actually use
  • Build an answer source with dated prices and a named owner
  • Design the hand-over to a person first, and test with real messages

What you need

  • Any no-code bot builder (Tidio, ManyChat, Landbot, Chatbase or similar)
  • A Google Doc or sheet for the answer source
  • Twenty real or realistic past customer messages

Tasks

  1. 1Find the job

Read (or write, if you have none) fifty realistic incoming messages for the shop. Tally the questions and write the five that repeat most, in the customer's own words, including Roman Urdu.
A correct result: A tally of fifty messages and the top five questions in customer wording.
  2. 2Pick the channel

Count where the fifty messages arrived (WhatsApp, Instagram, website, phone). Choose the channel that won and say in one sentence why the bot goes there.
A correct result: The count by channel and the chosen channel with a reason.
  3. 3Write what the bot knows

Write twenty question-and-answer pairs in the customer's own words. Date every price and delivery charge. Put the owner's name at the top of the document as the person who keeps it current.
A correct result: Twenty Q&A pairs with dated prices and a named owner.
  4. 4Build the exit first

Configure the bot so that a request for a person, an angry message, a complaint or anything it cannot answer reaches a human within two exchanges, with the shop's hours stated if it is after hours.
A correct result: A screenshot or recording showing an annoyed message reaching a human in two exchanges or fewer.
  5. 5Build and connect

Load the answer source into the bot and connect it to the chosen channel (or its test mode). Ask it the five top questions.
A correct result: The five top questions answered correctly in the bot's test window.
  6. 6Test with real messages

Send twenty past messages through it, including messy ones with typos, Roman Urdu and two questions at once. Log every wrong or weak answer, fix the top three, and test those again.
A correct result: A log of twenty tests with the error count before and after the three fixes.

What to hand in

The message tally, the channel decision, the dated answer source, the hand-over proof, and the twenty-message test log with before and after error counts.
