The go/no-go decision, on one page, before a rupee is spent

The situation

Everyone you know has a cousin who "made lakhs on Amazon". Before you commit capital, you will do what they did not: an honest position, the rules read at the source, a model chosen against your numbers, three products researched and two rejected, a complete listing plan, and a written exit point. The product of this lab is a decision, not a store.

What you'll be able to show

  • State your capital, hours and manufacturing access honestly and choose a model from them
  • Read Amazon's rules at the source and know what suspends an account
  • Research products by reading real one- and two-star reviews, and reject most of them
  • Write the go/no-go page with an exit point decided before starting

What you need

  • Amazon's own Seller Central help pages and Seller Code of Conduct
  • Amazon's search and review pages for product research
  • A spreadsheet for the numbers and one page for the decision

Tasks

  1. 1Your honest position
Write: capital you can lose without harm, hours per week you can give, and whether you have access to any local manufacturing through family or contacts. If capital is under a lakh, note that wholesale or a Daraz start is the advice, not a discouragement.
A correct result: Three honest numbers and one line on what they imply.
  2. 2The rules, at the source
Read the current seller registration requirements and the Seller Code of Conduct on Amazon's site. Write three rules that could suspend your account and how you would prove compliance if challenged — keeping supplier invoices must be one.
A correct result: Three rules with a proof-of-compliance line each, and the URLs you read.
  3. 3Choose a model against your numbers
Score all four models (private label, wholesale, arbitrage, dropshipping as the course defines them) against your position: capital, hours, manufacturing access, loss you can absorb. Choose one in a paragraph, and write one sentence on what would make you wrong.
A correct result: A scored table, one chosen model, one falsifying sentence.
  4. 4Three products, two rejected
Research three candidate products against the four criteria in writing. For each, read fifteen one- and two-star reviews of the current top listings and record what buyers actually complain about. Reject at least two, with reasons.
A correct result: Three research sheets, complaint lists, two rejections with reasons, one survivor.
  5. 5The listing plan
For the survivor: a main-image concept plus six supporting image concepts (one answering the biggest complaint you found), a keyword-researched title, five benefit-led bullets, and the launch plan — opening price, daily PPC budget, and the ACoS you must reach by month three to be profitable, with the arithmetic.
A correct result: Seven image concepts, a title, five bullets, and a launch plan with a calculated ACoS target.
  6. 6The go/no-go page
One page: chosen model, chosen product with its four scores, capital committed and affordable to lose, launch budget and timeline, the ACoS you must reach, and the exact point at which you would stop and call it a failed experiment.
A correct result: One page with a stated exit point — the line that stops a bad product consuming everything.
